I was born in 1972. By that time, America was already on its way to becoming a Classless Society.
I don’t mean a Marxist Utopia. I mean a society that has no class.
Socialists have always promised us a Classless Society, but all they have given us is a society that’s got no class.
The decay of morals and class began in the 1960s, but began slowly, and has really grown at a geometric pace in the past decade or two. SO much so, that it boggles the mind.
I am not old. I am 46, but somehow I became a bit of a curmudgeon. And I mean it in the classic sense, not because insulting little pricks on Facebook call me a “Boomer” whenever I disagree with them on an issue of politics. I always laugh at that insult. Such woke little liberal ideologues…. They are totally comfortable with prejudices based on ageism. Because you see, ageism is totally OK, as long as you’re insulting an old white person. That’s what being woke is all about.
The lack of civility and manners in contemporary American society is directly related to the liberal concept of relativism. Liberals love to equivocate, to parse, to split hairs. A certain insult is a horrible and unforgivable crime if directed at one certain group, but totally OK if you direct it at another group. And the acceptable unacceptable groups change with the political winds and the liberal agenda of the day.
Caring only about producing loyal activists and apparatchiks, the liberals have encouraged the worst possible traits in our youth. They encourage disrespect, combativeness, disregard for others’ feelings, basic common decency and manners. Ironically enough, the same mean and nasty liberal operative who throws insults and trolls people online with glee will respond IMMEDIATELY to any disagreement with them by accusing the other person of being rude, nasty, and any flavor of bigot that fits their imagine victimhood.
You see, liberals don’t even know what rude, nasty, or bigoted means. To them, all any of those words means is “any person who disagrees with my political views.” Any person who disagrees with their political positions, in fact, IS rude, nasty, and bigoted. And on the other hand, any person who SHARES their political views is utterly incapable, in their eyes, of doing or saying anything rude, nasty, or bigoted. When the insulting language is uttered by a liberal, such speech is lauded as being incisive, insightful, or of defending some perceived victim class.
Nowhere is the lack of class in our society more visible than online. Any conversation online begins and ends with personal attacks. In rhetoric, the term is ad hominem, and what it means is attacking the man, not the idea. The epidemic outbreak of personal insults and ad hominem can be traced back to the liberal Bible/Playbook: “Rules for Radicals” by Saul Alinsky. Rule 5: “Ridicule is man’s most potent weapon.” Rule 13: “Pick the target, freeze it, personalize it, and polarize it.” This is how Americans talk to each other now, especially about politics, and most assuredly so online.
The reality is that political activists online, on both sides of the political spectrum, but especially on the liberal side, are more rude, more vitriolic, and more hateful than Hitler’s Brownshirts were during the rise of the NAZI party. Modern internet liberals have perfected the art of insult and ridicule to a simple formulaic science. And they have no care for decency, reason, or manners. Their only goal is to ridicule and humiliate anyone who disagrees with them.
In true Socialist style, nothing matters to a liberal except the dialectic. The minds of the masses must be kept persuaded and compliant. The easiest way for them to keep anyone from listening to contrary opinions is to humiliate and discredit, by any means necessary, any messenger of a forbidden thought. They are more cruel to any of their own who sway from the party line than they are of the enemy. If you don’t believe me, go ask Kanye West.
Civility is dead, and liberals have killed it. Sadly, they think it is a good thing, because of the petty advantage it gives them in public debates. The reality is, all they have done is turn our society into a no-class free-for-all of vitriol and acrimony. A society without class, it’s a Socialist dream state.
